On Saturday September 21, young runners and their family will run together on the 1 km course in the surroundings of the Olympic Stadium. Get ready for an exciting experience at the 32nd edition of the Marathon Beneva de Montréal. Registration for the event will open on December 1st at noon.
The start will take place at 11:15 a.m. next to the Montreal Biodôme and will be done in waves according to children’s age groups. Participants will be informed of their start wave a few days before the race. The number of people per wave will respect public health guidelines.
The Olympic Park’s Esplanade will be set up as a welcome and celebration area for runners. Medal presentations, post-race refreshments, therapeutic and medical care (to be confirmed), celebrations, recovery areas, kiosks, everything will be set up to offer a welcoming environment to all runners.
The organization designed the 1 km course in close collaboration with its partners in order to offer a fun experience to all participants. (More details to come)
Starts
Starts will be made in waves according to the participants’ age. The purpose of this approach is to reduce the risk of accidents at the start. The ranking of the event is made according to the chip time. Thus, the starting wave of the athlete does not influence the result.
Accompanying parents
Parents may accompany their children during the race. The parent will not be listed in the standings and will not receive any medals, shirts or post-race snacks.
The organization recommends that a parent accompanies the youngest children during the 1 km.
