Racing towards a sustainable future
Like a runner’s stride, our commitment to sustainable development propels us towards a better future, where the balance between economy, society and environment is at the heart of our decisions. The Beneva Montreal Marathon is aware of the major challenges facing our planet. We pledge to be agents of positive change, to push our limits, and to set new goals every year.
Every step counts, every action is a step towards a greener, more balanced future.
Green commitments: one step at a time towards a green future!
- The Beneva Montreal Marathon is certified as a “carbon neutral event” by Planetair, an organization committed to having a positive impact on the environment through its tree-planting program.
- We will also be offsetting all our greenhouse gas emissions.
- To minimize our ecological footprint, we have partnered with the Consortium Echo-Logique to ensure efficient management of the waste generated during the event.
- We encourage responsible consumption by offering the event jersey only to those who want it, at a special price.
- Official jerseys for runners and volunteers are made from recycled materials, supporting the circular economy.
- Refueling stations use recyclable cardboard cups.
Social and economic initiatives that make a difference
- We mobilize over 2,000 volunteers over the 3-day event.
- The organization ensures prize money for men and women in the elite program.
- We give preference to local suppliers for the needs of the event.
- We offer an adapted sports program for inclusive and diversified participation.
- *New this year* We have introduced a non-binary category.
