What sanitary measures (vaccination, physical distance, mask wearing, etc.) will be put in place to ensure the safety of all during the various events?
We are working closely with the various governmental authorities to implement a sanitary plan that will ensure the safety of everyone during the Marathon Beneva de Montréal weekend. The organization will unveil the measures put in place as they are established.
How will you ensure the safety of all participants during the event?
The Marathon Beneva de Montréal production team is composed of experts with more than 40 years of experience in managing large-scale events. They have proven experience in all aspects of safety and medical management for an event of this magnitude. This team will ensure the implementation and execution of a plan that exceeds the various standards established in the field to make the Marathon Beneva de Montréal a reference in terms of good health and safety practices.
If the Marathon Beneva de Montréal is cancelled, will participants be refunded?
In the case the event is cancelled due to COVID-19, the participant will have two options:
1 – Request a refund of the registration amount, excluding transaction fees.
2 – Defer the registration to the same race of the 2024 edition of the Marathon Beneva de Montréal at no cost.

If the Marathon Beneva de Montréal is cancelled, will a virtual version be offered?
The organization of a virtual edition of the Marathon Beneva de Montréal is not considered. In the case the event is canceled due to COVID-19, the registration fee, excluding the processing fee, will be refunded. The full registration policy is available here.
Is it possible to transfer my registration to another person?
Yes, it is possible to transfer your registration to another person via the registration platform subject to an administration fee of $12. For more information on this subject, please consult the registration policy.
Is it possible to change the race I am participating in?
Yes, it is possible to change your race via the registration platform subject to an administration fee of $12 (plus taxes and processing fee). For more information on this subject, please consult the registration policy.
Can I be reimbursed if I am no longer able to attend the event?
Registrations are non-refundable except in situations explicitly provided for in sections 9 and 10 of the registration policy which concern situations relating to COVID-19. You can consult the complete registration policy by clicking here.
In addition, the organization offers participants the possibility to purchase insurance with FanShield that covers certain situations that would prevent a runner from taking part in the event. Please note that this insurance is non-refundable in the case of event cancellation.
Can I defer my registration to next year?
No, it is not possible to defer registration. The only time this option will be available is if the event is cancelled.
I did not receive my registration confirmation (I can’t find it anymore). How can I verify that I am registered?
Following your registration, you will receive a registration confirmation by email from Race Roster. Don’t forget to check your spam folder. It is also possible to view your registration via the Race Roster dashboard. Login to your account to view your registration.
Can I change my registration information ?
Yes, it is possible to modify certain aspects of your registration from your RaceRoster dashboard.
What is the processing fee on my invoice?
The processing fee is charged by the Race Roster registration platform at the time of payment. This fee includes the credit card transaction fee and the Race Roster user fee. Our organization does not receive any portion of this fee. This amount is non-refundable in the event of cancellation of the event.

I am a walker. Can I register for one of the races?
Yes, it is possible to participate in all walking races. However, you must respect the time limit of your race. No separate rankings will be made for walkers.
Here are the time limits for each race:
Marathon: 6h00
Half Marathon: 4h00 (However, participants must complete 13 kilometers a maximum time of 2h10)
10 km: 2h00
5 km: 1h00
As an organization, we must maintain this limit in order to allow the streets to reopen at the indicated times. This is a sign of respect towards the citizens of the city of Montreal who allow us to use their streets.

Are there any minimum ages for the races?
There is no minimum age to participate in the races.
However, we recommend that you follow the guidelines of the Fédération québécoise d’athlétisme on this subject.
For the Marathon and Half Marathon, the minimum recommended age is 18. For the 10K and 5K, the recommended age is 16 and 14 respectively.
Where will the Expo-Marathon take place?
The Expo-Marathon will be held at the Olympic Stadium. Details of the Expo-Marathon will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Can I pick up my bib elsewhere than at the Expo-Marathon?
No, the bibs can only be picked up at the Expo-Marathon.
If you are unable to pick up your bib, another person may do so by presenting this completed form.
Can I pick up my bib on the morning of my race?
No, you must pick up your bib in the days preceding the race at the Expo-Marathon. No bib pick-up will be possible on the morning of your race.

Can I run with a stroller?
For safety reasons, running with a stroller is only allowed in the 1km and 5 km event.
I have been placed in mandatory isolation by Public Health which prevents me from participating in the event, can I be reimbursed?
In the event that a Participant is unable to participate in the event due to COVID-19 (mandatory isolation, positive COVID-19 test, etc.), upon presentation of supporting documentation, the Organization will refund the registration fee, excluding processing fee.

I have caught COVID-19, I will not be able to participate in the event. Can I get a refund?
In the event that a Participant is unable to participate in the event due to COVID-19 (mandatory isolation, positive COVID-19 test, etc.), upon presentation of supporting documentation, the Organization will refund the registration fee, excluding processing fee.

I have symptoms of COVID-19, can I still take part in the event?
No, a participant who shows symptoms of COVID-19 must not attend the event. In this specific case, proof of testing within 48 hours of the event must be presented to the Organization to obtain a refund of the registration fee, excluding processing fee.
Can I participate in the races in a wheelchair?

Does the Marathon de Montréal qualify for Boston?
Yes, the marathon course is measured and certified by Athletics Canada. The event is therefore a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
Where can I find the starting times of the races?
The start time of each race is as follow :
Saturday, September 24
1 KM: 8:30 AM
5 KM: 8:45 AM
10 KM: 9:30 AM
Sunday, September 25
Marathon and Half Marathon : 7:45 AM
What is the elevation gain of the courses?
The elevation profile for each course is available on the specific page for each race.
If the event is cancelled due to COVID-19, are donations refundable?
Donations made to any of the causes associated with the Marathon Beneva de Montréal at the time of registration are not refundable.
The value of the donation made as part of the exchange of the event medal as well as the carbon offset are refundable.
How do I get the group discount?
In order to obtain a 10% discount for groups of 12 persons or more, you must contact us before registering. It will not be possible to apply a discount retroactively.
I am registered for the 2021 Marathon Beneva de Montréal. What do I have to do?

How can I get a refund for my registration?

Will the processing fee be refunded ?
We have finally decided to include the processing fee in the refund, which we had originally excluded from our policy.

What are the dates for the 2022 edition?
It is with great pleasure that we can already announce that the next edition of the Marathon Beneva de Montréal will take place from September 23th to 25th 2022.
How can I request a deferral of my registration for the 2022 edition?
All participants have received an email explaining the procedure to follow in order to request a deferral of their registration to the 2022 edition of the Marathon Beneva de Montréal.

Will the 2022 courses be the same as those presented in 2021?
The start and finish sites will be the same. The organization aims to keep the course presented in 2021. However, runners will be notified if any changes are made for major reasons such as road works.
