Set an ambitious goal that motivates you
Hello again, fellow runners!
Today I give you the first of my tips to help you rock the Marathon Beneva de Montréal.
Have you noticed that you are always feel more proud to have accomplished something that you find difficult, that you were not sure you can do? There is a reason why we say that “in a calm sea, everyone is a pilot”.
Performance psychology is explicit: the best challenges to take up are those that scare us a little, those for which we must prepare and work hard. In running, these challenges abound, regardless of your discipline of predilection.
You completed a 10K last year? Sign up for the half marathon and take advantage of the next few months to improve your endurance. You completed your first marathon last year? Work on your speed this summer to set a new personal best in September. Whatever your goal, you will find the motivation to go out and train to surpass yourself.
To establish your goal and target pace, use an online calculator. And to progress while having fun, join our Club and train alongside hundreds of other runners from all over Quebec who have also set an ambitious goal that motivates them.
I will be back soon with my next tip. In the meantime, happy training!
